Veterinary Specialists of Sydney (VSOS) is looking for friendly, organised and proactive Veterinary Receptionists to join our weekend team.
n
As the first point of contact for our clients, you will help create a calm, welcoming and professional environment during what can often be a stressful or emotional time. You'll work closely with our reception, emergency and specialist teams to ensure every client and patient feels supported from the moment they arrive.
n
These positions are specifically for candidates available to work regular Saturday and Sunday shifts. Our hospital operates 24/7, with reception staffed between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm, so availability across a range of weekend shifts is required.

About the Role




n
As a member of our weekend reception team, you will:
n
n
Welcome clients and visitors with warmth, empathy and professionalism
n
Support clients through emergency presentations and emotionally difficult situations
n
Coordinate patient admissions and ensure client and patient information is recorded accurately
n
Confirm that consent forms and other required documentation are completed
n
Answer and direct phone calls efficiently and compassionately
n
Manage appointments and maintain accurate records using ezyVet
n
Communicate clearly with clients, veterinarians, nurses and other hospital departments
n
Process payments and assist clients with account-related enquiries
n
Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked reception area
n
Provide general administrative support to the wider hospital team
n
Contribute to clinic initiatives and continuous improvement activities
n

What We're Looking For
n
We are looking for someone who can remain calm, organised and compassionate in a busy emergency and specialist hospital.
n
The ideal candidate will have:
n
n
Previous experience in a reception, customer service or front-office role
n
Availability to work regular weekend shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
n
The ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
n
A proactive and client-focused approach
n




Confidence communicating with clients during stressful or emotional situations
n
A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the wider team
n
n
Previous veterinary, medical or healthcare reception experience is highly regarded. Experience using ezyVet or a similar practice management system is also an advantage.
