AIR**** is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR**** will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments,



maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

We are seeking a Safety Engineer with a Systems Engineering and System Safety focus to join the AIR**** T2B FADS program. In this role, you will apply system safety engineering within a systems engineering environment, ensuring hazards are identified, analysed, and controlled across complex and safety‐critical capabilities throughout the full system lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
n
Working under the guidance of the System Safety Lead, you will:
n

Perform system safety engineering activities across the program lifecycle
n
Conduct hazard analysis and safety risk assessments, including FMEA, FTA, and hazard log management, in accordance with MIL-STD-882E
n
Develop and maintain system safety documentation to support certification, customer acceptance, and test readiness
n
Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety cases and assurance artefacts
n
Review system designs, support equipment, and operational concepts to ensure safety requirements are defined, traceable, and verifiable
