Valuable Nature Hotel has recently undergone a renovation and we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team.

n

This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently support the Head Chef, lead the kitchen team and maintain high standards across every service.

n
n

You’ll be organised and proactive during prep, while having the ability to go from 0 to 100 when service kicks off. You’ll remain calm under pressure, communicate clearly and help set the pace for the team during busy, high-volume services.

What you’ll be doing:

n

n
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
n
Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
n
Run service and maintain consistency, speed and presentation
n
Assist with stocktakes, ordering, stock rotation and wastage control
n
Support rostering, kitchen administration and cost management
n
Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
n
Ensure food is prepared, stored and served in line with food safety requirements
n
Assist with training, performance management and team communication
n
Step into the Head Chef’s responsibilities when required
n

What we’re looking for:

n

n
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen leader
n
A strong, confident and supportive leadership style
n
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
n
Someone who can anticipate what needs to be done and take ownership
n
Strong understanding of food safety, allergen management and kitchen compliance
n
Experience with stock control, stocktakes and kitchen administration
n
Calm, reliable and solutions-focused under pressure
n
Flexible availability across nights and weekends
n
