Southern Plant Maintenance is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel / Plant Mechanic to join our busy workshop and field service team in Moss Vale. We're a locally owned and operated mechanical business servicing the Southern Highlands and surrounding areas. We work across a wide variety of heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, plant and diesel utes – so no two days are quite the same.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Service, repair, diagnose and respond to breakdowns on heavy vehicles and trucks
n
Maintain and repair earthmoving and construction equipment, excavators and loaders
n
Work on diesel utes, 4WDs, trailers and farm machinery
n
Perform hydraulic systems work
n
Conduct field service and onsite repairs
n
Assist and oversee apprentices
n
Work independently in the field as well as part of a team
n

About you
n
n
Qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Plant Mechanic with attention to detail and pride in workmanship
n
Passionate about the trade and able to assist and oversee apprentices
n
Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills
n
Confident working independently in the field as well as part of a team
n
Reliable, honest and self-motivated
n
Positive communication skills and able to deal confidently with customers
n
Current driver's licence
n
Experience across heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, hydraulics and diagnostics highly regarded
n
