About the role
We are seeking a Sales Assistant & Animal Attendant to join our team at our Grange QLD 4051 location. This is a casual position (must be available weekends). In this role, you will be the face of our business, delivering outstanding customer service whilst also caring for animals in our store. You will play a vital part in ensuring our customers have an exceptional shopping experience and that our animal companions receive the highest standard of care and attention.
Key responsibilities
Providing friendly and efficient customer service to all shoppers, answering enquiries and assisting with product selection
Processing sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
Maintaining store displays and ensuring merchandise is well-organised, stocked and presented to a high standard
Caring for animals in the store, including feeding, watering,
cleaning enclosures and monitoring their health and wellbeing
Handling animals safely and humanely, following all welfare guidelines and best practices
Educating customers on animal care requirements and product suitability
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the store, including animal areas
Restocking, cleaning shelves and managing inventory levels
Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues as needed

Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry items regularly, and to stand for extended periods

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work casual hours as required
Basic numeracy skills and ability to use point-of-sale technology
Previous retail or animal care experience is essential
