Hours: 38 hours, Monday-Friday.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable nursery hand to join our team at Tropical Exotics.
n
This role is a hands-on dispatch and production role.
n
This position would suit someone with previous experience working in a commercial plant nursery who understands the importance of plant quality, efficiency, accuracy and getting orders out on time.
n
About the Role
n
Working as part of our dispatch and production team, you will be responsible for preparing plants and orders for delivery while helping maintain high standards across both of our sites [Ningi and Glasshouse Mountains].
n
Your day-to-day duties will include:
n
Preparing, picking and packing plants for customer orders and dispatch
n
Checking plants for quality, presentation and correct quantities
n
Loading and unloading plant orders safely and efficiently
n
Organising plants ready for delivery and collection
n




Assisting with general nursery production activities, including potting, spacing, pruning, watering, weeding and plant maintenance
n
Maintaining clean, safe and organised work areas
n
Working efficiently to meet daily dispatch deadlines
n
Following workplace health and safety procedures
n
Working as part of a team while also being capable of working independently
n
About You
n
The successful applicant will ideally have:
n
Experience in plant production and/or dispatch
n
A good knowledge of plants and nursery practices
n
Robust attention to detail and accuracy when preparing orders
n
Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in a hands-on environment
n
A reliable, positive and hardworking attitude
n
The ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining quality
n
Good communication and teamwork skills
n
A current driver's licence is required
n
Forklift experience/licence is desirable
n
