This is mainly a management role.
You'll be responsible for how the Dry Fire division runs and performs: its people, programs, quality, compliance and client relationships.
You'll manage about six technicians plus subcontractors.
The role also covers work planning, commercial results and customer satisfaction.
You'll need strong technical knowledge to back up your team, review work, solve escalated problems and talk confidently with clients and consultants.
The role is mostly about leading and managing, but you'll be comfortable jumping in on site when it's needed.
That could be a complex fault, a site survey or a busy period.
This role is measured on results.
We're looking for someone who takes ownership of the division, delivers consistently and doesn't need to be chased.
Key responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop the Dry Fire team of technicians and subcontractors
Own the routine service, annual testing and defect rectification programs across our client portfolio
Plan work, schedule and allocate resources so programs are delivered on time
Review service reports, defect findings and compliance output for quality and accuracy
Prepare and approve quotations, scopes of work and rectification proposals, and turn defects into approved works
Oversee installation, upgrade and project works from quote to handover
Be the senior technical and escalation contact for clients, strata and facility managers, consultants and Accredited Practitioners
Keep the division compliant with AS ****, AS ****, AS ****, AS ****, the NCC and NSW fire safety requirements
Monitor division performance, including productivity, recovery, margins and outstanding defects, and report to management
Help recruit, onboard, train and mentor staff,



and build a strong safety and quality culture
About you
Extensive experience in the fire protection industry, with a strong background in fire detection, EWIS and emergency lighting
Proven experience supervising or managing technicians and subcontractors
Solid working knowledge of current and historical Australian Standards and compliance requirements
Commercial awareness: experience quoting, estimating and managing work profitably
Excellent organisational, communication and client relationship skills
Confident making decisions, leading people and holding the team to a high standard
Comfortable with job management software (Uptick preferred) and Microsoft Office
NSW Electrical Licence and/or Open Cabling Registration (preferred)
Certificate II or higher in Fire Protection Inspection & Testing (preferred)
A track record of running service programs to schedule, with evidence to back it up
Someone who takes ownership and follows things through without being chased
Proven ability to work independently, make decisions and deliver outcomes
