We are looking for a qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Smythesdale. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands on in clinic, values teamwork, and wants flexibility in how they work.

Our Smythesdale clinic is a well-established part of the local community, providing genuine care to our clients and their animals. The team is small, welcoming, and supportive, with a strong focus on working together and helping each other out on busy days. We are a companion animal clinic but have recently branched out into mixed animals, so we cater to a large part of the community.

You will be working alongside experienced veterinarians and nurses who value good communication, a positive attitude, and a sense of humour. We take pride in creating a workplace where people feel comfortable asking questions, learning recent skills, and being themselves at work.

About the role





You will be involved in all aspects of nursing support, including:
Assisting with consultations, surgery and procedures
Patient care, monitoring and recovery
Client communication and education
Maintaining a clean, well-organised clinic setting
Supporting vets and fellow nurses as part of a close-knit team

About you
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent experience
A positive, team focused approach
Good communication skills and a genuine care for patients and clients
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A willingness to learn and grow in your role
