Hours:35 hours per week | 7 hours per day
APG Workforce is seeking an experiencedSite Surveillance Officerto supportNSW Public Works (NSWPW)on civil infrastructure works across the Moree Plains Shire Council area.
This role will provide an in office presence for NSWPW, monitoring road and drainage construction works to ensure contractors are meeting required safety, environmental, quality and contractual standards.
About the Role Working autonomously across project sites throughout the Moree region, you will monitor construction activities, contractor compliance and progress while supporting the broader project delivery team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting site surveillance of contracted road and drainage construction works.
Undertaking safety, environmental and quality inspections in accordance with NSWPW guidelines and checklists.
Monitoring contractor compliance with approved systems, procedures and project requirements.
Monitoring and reporting on the progress of works on site.
Acting as the NSWPW on-site representative.
Identifying issues requiring contractor attention and escalating matters where appropriate.
Undertaking minor contract administration tasks in support of the Contract Administrator.




Reviewing and interpreting contractual and technical documentation and design drawings.
Collating works completion evidence, including site photographs, for inclusion in Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements progress claims.
Travelling regularly to construction sites throughout the Moree Plains Shire Council Local Government Area.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience as aConstruction Site Supervisor, Project Engineer or Project Managerwithin road construction or civil construction.
Experience working inreactive soil/black soil environments.
Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, particularly road and drainage works.
The ability to read and understand contractual and technical documentation and interpret design drawings.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document site activities and construction progress.
The ability to work autonomously across remote project sites, with regular weekly check-ins with the Program Manager and delivery team.
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with contractors regarding compliance or issues requiring attention.
Sound judgement and an understanding of when issues need to be escalated.
Acurrent NSW Driver Licence.
This opportunity would suit an experienced civil construction professional who is comfortable working independently in the field and has a strong understanding of contractor surveillance, compliance and road construction activities.
