Salary Package: $115,000 - $125,000 + Super
Role Highlights:
Join a well-established consumer products organisation supporting retail, digital and manufacturing operations across Australia and New Zealand.
This is an opportunity to join the finance team during an exciting period of change, with the business transitioning to Xero, migrating manufacturing to a current ERP and automating a number of existing processes.
You will play a key role within the Villawood manufacturing operation, taking ownership of month-end close, inventory and cost accounting while acting as a genuine finance business partner to the Manufacturing Director.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the operations of a business, asking questions, solving problems and providing meaningful financial insight rather than simply producing reports.
Role Overview
Reporting into theGM, Finance, this Management Accountant role will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the manufacturing entity.
You will take ownership of the month-end close process, including inventory journals, cost of goods, intercompany reconciliations, stock valuations and goods in transit.
You will also maintain cost prices across SKUs and provide analysis and commentary to support operational decision-making.
A key component of the role will be partnering closely with the Manufacturing Director and broader manufacturing team.
You will work to ensure financial processes and reporting accurately reflect what is happening operationally, while providing clear analysis and insight to support business decisions.
The business is currently going through a period of significant systems and process transformation, including a move to Xero and the implementation of a new ERP for manufacturing.
You will therefore have the opportunity to contribute directly to system improvements,
process automation and the development of the manufacturing finance function.
Responsibilities
Own the month-end close for the manufacturing entity, including inventory journals, COGS and intercompany reconciliations
Prepare and review closing stock valuations, goods in transit and opening stock reversals
Maintain and apply cost prices across SKUs, including packaging, consumables and finished goods
Reconcile manufacturing sales and purchases against retail counterparts and investigate discrepancies
Manage wastage reporting and ensure accurate GL treatment across waste categories
Prepare management accounts, financial analysis and commentary for the manufacturing entity
Act as a finance business partner to the Manufacturing Director, providing financial insight and guidance
Work closely with the Villawood manufacturing team to ensure financial processes reflect operational reality
Contribute to ERP implementation, Xero onboarding and broader finance system improvements
Build and maintain GL mapping and chart of accounts for manufacturing-related activity
Support payroll GL submissions and liaise with the payroll team regarding coding and accruals
Candidate Profile
You are an experienced Management Accountant or Financial Accountant with3-4+ years' experienceand a strong understanding of management accounting principles.
Exposure to a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
You will bring strong technical knowledge acrossinventory accounting,
cost of goods, stock movements, month-end close and reconciliations.
You will be comfortable investigating discrepancies and ensuring financial information is accurate and properly understood.
Experience working closely with operational stakeholders is important, as this role requires someone who can translate financial information into clear, practical insights for non-finance leaders.
Experience withERP implementations, system migrations, automation or finance process improvementwill be highly regarded, particularly for candidates who enjoy working in environments undergoing change.
You will ideally have aBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with CA/CPA completed or in progress.
Experience withXero, MYOB or comparable accounting systemsis also desirable.
Most importantly, you will be someone who is curious, commercially minded and comfortable getting into the detail.
You will have a low tolerance for unexplained variances, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
