Job Description
You will be responsible for assisting with the selection of suppliers, ingredients and professional gelato equipment, producing artisan gelato, sorbets and semifreddi from scratch, preparing Italian cakes and restaurant desserts, developing, balancing and following recipes, weighing, mixing and preparing ingredients accurately, operating professional gelato and pastry equipment, managing daily production and stock requirements, and maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe production area.
This is a hands‐on role for someone confident working independently and managing gelato and dessert production to a consistently high standard.
Key responsibilities
Assisting with the selection of suppliers, ingredients and professional gelato equipment
Producing artisan gelato, sorbets and semifreddi from scratch




Preparing Italian cakes and restaurant desserts
Developing, balancing and following recipes
Weighing, mixing and preparing ingredients accurately
Operating professional gelato and pastry equipment
Managing daily production and stock requirements
Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe production area
About you
At least 3 years of relevant and verifiable qualified experience in gelato and dessert production
Experience gained in Italy and/or Australia will be highly regarded
Strong knowledge of artisan gelato production and recipe balancing
The ability to work independently and manage production
Strong attention to quality, consistency and food safety
