This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has experience in the metalwork, structural steel, aluminium or architectural fabrication industry and is confident reading construction drawings, completing take-offs, preparing quotations and producing shop drawings.

Key responsibilities
n

Review architectural, structural and construction drawings
n
Read and interpret plans, specifications and project documentation
n
Measure and complete accurate material take-offs
n
Prepare detailed quotations for upcoming projects
n
Calculate material quantities, labour requirements and fabrication costs
n
Request and review supplier pricing where required
n
Prepare pricing for variations and additional works
n
Assist with tender submissions
n
Follow up quotations and liaise with builders and clients
n




Prepare detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings
n
n
About you
n
n
Previous experience in metalwork estimating and drafting
n
Strong ability to read architectural and structural drawings
n
Experience completing measurements and quantity take-offs
n
Experience preparing quotations and tender pricing
n
Understanding of steel and aluminium fabrication
n
Good knowledge of material and labour requirements
n
Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
n
Excellent attention to detail
n
Valuable communication and organisational skills
n
n
