About the role:
We are currently seeking 2 x reliable and motivated Trade Assistants to join a growing infrastructure services team working across South East Queensland.
This is a hands‐on, field‐based role supporting sewer network inspection and smoke testing activities.
Smoke testing is a protected and non‐toxic process used to identify defective sewer pipes, leaks, and incorrect connections that can contribute to wastewater overflows and environmental impacts.
This is a full‐time casual opportunity offering long‐term ongoing work, an immediate start, and the potential to secure a permanent position.

Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with sewer smoke testing operations
Setting up and operating testing equipment
Opening and securing manholes and access points
Monitoring test locations and recording observations
Assisting with site safety and traffic management where required
Speaking directly with clients, residents, and stakeholders regarding testing activities
Completing basic documentation and reporting
General labouring and Trade Assistant duties as required
Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental procedures
Skills/Experience:
Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Labourer, Civil Construction Worker, Utilities Worker or similar




A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills and confidence speaking directly with clients and members of the public
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A high regard for workplace health and safety
A current driver's licence
The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
**PLEASE NOTE: Applicants will be required to undertake a full medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening, and provide evidence of, or be willing to obtain, vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus to be eligible for this role.
