Chisholm is seeking an experienced Study Support Unit – Team Leader to join our Student Support and Engagement team at Chisholm.
About The Role
The Study Support Unit delivers Institute-wide, non-accredited educational support services that strengthen student engagement, learning capability, progression and successful course completion.
The Study Support Unit – Team Leader provides strategic, operational and professional leadership of the Study Support Unit, including service design, delivery and continuous improvement, workforce planning, quality assurance, data collection, analysis, budget tracking and forecasting, and reporting.
The Team Leader recruits, coaches and develops Study Support staff, peer support workers and a casual workforce, ensuring high-quality service delivery, accountability for outcomes and a culture of continuous improvement and student-centred practice.
The Team Leader leads services delivering individual consultations, workshops, peer-assisted learning, classroom-based educational support and self-service resources.
The role is responsible for workforce planning, service quality, continuous improvement and operational performance, ensuring students receive timely, coordinated support that contributes to improved engagement, retention, progression and successful course completion across the Institute.
The Team Leader leads the design, implementation and evaluation of study support initiatives and projects that enhance student success, participation, and accessibility across the Institute.
This includes the development and implementation of assistive technology, AI-enabled study tools and other innovative support approaches.
The role ensures initiatives are evidence-informed, aligned to student and organisational needs, appropriately evaluated and delivered within agreed timeframes to maximise student engagement, participation and learning outcomes.
About You
Qualifications and skills required for the role :
You will have a relevant Degree and relevant post graduate qualification and experience in Education Student Services, Disability, Social Sciences,



Learning Support or a related discipline or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience with management expertise; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education /training
You Are a Highly Motivated Individual With
Ability to lead high-level stakeholder engagement with Senior Leadership
Proven ability to provide expert advice impacting strategic decisions
Demonstrated experience delivering student-facing learning or study support in an education or training setting
Strong understanding of language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) support needs across diverse learner cohorts
Proven ability to provide practical, task-based academic and digital support aligned to assessment requirements
Experience coordinating or contributing to service delivery, including rostering, scheduling or resource development
High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, educators and support staff
Experience designing, coordinating and delivering student support programs and initiatives that respond to learner needs and align with organisational priorities.
Demonstrated ability to apply inclusive, culturally protected and student-centred practice
Experience collecting, interpreting and using service data to inform continuous improvement
Ability to lead, support and guide staff, peers or Student Ambassadors in a delivery setting
