Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Health Worker - Deadly Feet
Join the Deadly Feet team as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Health Worker, delivering culturally safe care, strengthening community partnerships and improving foot health outcomes through education, advocacy and coordinated healthcare support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
About the role
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Health Worker - Deadly Feet plays a key role in delivering culturally safe, holistic healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through the Deadly Feet Vascular Outreach Program.
Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, this role supports patients at risk of, or living with, lower limb conditions associated with diabetes and peripheral vascular disease, helping to improve health outcomes, quality of life and access to care.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with communities, health services and stakeholders, support culturally responsive patient care, promote health literacy, and assist patients to navigate their healthcare journey.
The role also contributes to community engagement activities, referral pathway development, quality improvement initiatives and the delivery of outreach clinics across Metro North and regional Queensland locations.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:




Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients to navigate healthcare services and improve access to culturally safe care.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with communities, ACCHOs, Primary Health Networks and healthcare providers.
Facilitate community engagement activities, health promotion initiatives and patient feedback opportunities.
Assist with foot screening, health assessments, vital sign observations and other delegated clinical activities within scope of practice.
Contribute to quality improvement activities, referral pathways and the cultural capability development of the Deadly Feet team.
