Beku is launching a curated daytime specialty coffee and quick‐breakfast counter on Lygon Street.
We are looking for an experienced Barista / Shift Supervisor ready to take the next step and lead our morning venue.
You will anchor the espresso bar, direct casual floor support during morning rushes, and oversee our low-footprint food offer (think minimalist Japanese kissaten toasts, pressed sandos, and creative affogato/gelato pairings).
No heavy line cooking or grease traps—everything is built around fast, beautiful counter assembly and exceptional coffee.

What You'll Do
Own the Bar:Daily espresso dial-ins, milk workflow, and maintaining speed of service during commuter rushes.




Run the Food Counter:Oversee a tight, 4‐item counter menu (shokupan toasts, melts, grab‐and‐go) ensuring pristine presentation and taste.
Collaborate on Flavours:Work directly with the founder on signature affogatos, cold brew infusions, and dessert pairings.
Lead the Floor:Guide a casual all‐rounder during morning peaks, keep the space immaculate, and turn morning visitors into regulars.
Daytime Wrap:Balance daily tills, check stock pars, and complete a smooth afternoon handover to the evening team.
Who We're Looking For
2+ years specialty coffee experience with strong bar flow under pressure.
An eye for clean presentation and pride in quality food/beverage standards.
A proactive, organized operator who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told.
A senior barista, supervisor, or 2IC ready to step into a venue leadership role.
