McArthur is currently seeking an organised and proactive Sports Administration Officer to support a national sporting organisation based in Canberra.
This is a great chance for someone with experience in sports administration, club operations, events, membership, team support or general office administration who would enjoy working in a busy sporting environment.
The position will provide day-to-day administrative support to the organisation and will suit someone who is comfortable taking ownership of a broad range of tasks.
The opportunity
Full-time temporary assignment
Canberra based
Approximately 37.5 hours per week
$37-$40 per hour + super
Assignment expected to run through to approximately Christmas
Key responsibilities may include:
Providing general administrative and office support
Responding to telephone and email enquiries
Maintaining records, documents and filing systems
Supporting basic finance administration, including invoices and payment-related processing
Assisting with sporting programs, events and operational activities
Coordinating information and responding to enquiries from stakeholders
Supporting staff, athletes, teams and other stakeholders as required
Assisting with schedules, bookings and other day-to-day coordination
Maintaining accurate information across relevant systems and spreadsheets
Providing ad hoc administration support to ensure the office operates efficiently
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and comfortable working in a wide-ranging role.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in sports administration, a sporting club, sporting association or similar environment
Strong general administration and organisational skills
Confident telephone and customer service skills
Experience maintaining records and managing competing priorities
Some exposure to invoices, accounts administration or basic finance processing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
A practical, flexible approach and willingness to assist wherever required
Experience working with athletes, sporting teams, competitions, events, memberships or sporting programs would be highly regarded.
Candidates with strong administration experience and a genuine background or involvement in sport are also encouraged to apply.
