EKF INVESTMENTS PTY LTD EKF Investments Pty Ltd T/A Maman Bar & Kitchen is a vibrant, celebrated dining destination situated in the heart of Burleigh Heads.
Inspired by Mediterranean culinary traditions, our food menu prioritises bold-flavoured share plates, premium seasonal ingredients, and generous hospitality paired naturally with bespoke cocktails and natural wines.
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, drive menu development, and maintain high standards across all back-of
house operations.
Primary responsibilities include:
Managing overall kitchen operations and coordinated the work of the kitchen team daily.
Planning, developing, and updating menus in line with restaurant standards, customer preferences, and seasonal availability.
Monitoring and controlling food quality, consistency, portion sizes, and presentation across all menu items.
Managing kitchen budgets by controlling food costs, minimizing waste, and monitoring stock and supplier orders.
Recruiting, training, scheduling kitchen staff to ensure productive operations and compliance with workplace standards.
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements always.
Monitoring food preparation processes to maintain quality,



consistency, and efficiency.
Managing inventory levels by checking deliveries, rotating stock, and reducing food waste.
Coordinating kitchen operations during peak service periods to ensure timely food service.
Maintaining kitchen equipment by ensuring proper use, cleanliness, and reporting maintenance issues.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
Minimum AQF Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent
Minimum of 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience, preferably including experience in Mediterranean cuisine, seasonal menu design, and high-volume share-plate concepts.
Previous Head Chef experience preferred.
