Umech is looking for an experienced Service & Maintenance Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day planning, scheduling and administration of our growing maintenance business.
You'll be working directly with our customers, technicians, suppliers, Accounts and management to make sure maintenance work is properly planned, technicians are prepared, reports are completed and finished jobs move through to invoicing promptly.
Our maintenance work is predominantly planned and recurring, supporting specialist engineering systems across laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, semiconductor facilities, research environments and advanced manufacturing.
The Role
You will coordinate the maintenance workflow from initial request through to job completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and scheduling planned and reactive maintenance work
Coordinating technicians and managing the forward service schedule
Liaising with customers regarding access, timing and site requirements
Preparing jobs before technicians attend site
Organising equipment, test gear, materials and consumables
Preparing routine service and minor works quotations
Coordinating maintenance planning meetings
Ensuring service reports and job documentation are completed promptly
Maintaining service histories and recurring maintenance schedules
Tracking upcoming service requirements and contract renewals
Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors
You'll play a key role in keeping our maintenance team organised and well prepared, enabling our technicians to focus on delivering high-quality technical work and excellent service to our customers.




What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, practical and comfortable coordinating technical service work.
You may currently be working as a: Service Coordinator, Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Planner, Facilities Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, Project Administrator within a technical or trades business
Experience in HVAC, fire services, electrical, plumbing, facilities maintenance, industrial services, lifts, security systems or similar technical environments would transfer well into this role.
You do not need to be an engineer or tradesperson, but you do need to be comfortable working with technical people and understanding what is required to get a job ready for site.
You'll Need
Strong scheduling and organisational skills
Experience coordinating technicians, trades or field service personnel
Strong customer communication skills
Positive written communication
Experience working with job management or service management systems
Confidence preparing / assisting works quotations
Good attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities
Strong follow-up skills
Confidence chasing missing information
Experience working with purchase orders, job documentation and invoicing workflows
Competence with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office or similar systems
Highly Regarded

We are now looking for someone to take greater ownership of the coordination function and help us scale the maintenance business without loading additional administration onto our technicians.
