Locum Consultant Psychiatrist - General (Inpatient)
A Queensland health service is seeking a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to provide specialist support within their General Adult inpatient mental health unit.
Service Info
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 33-bed acute inpatient service located at the Townsville University Hospital.
It also has 4 Pre-Discharge Satellite Unit beds based in the community.
The AAMHIU delivers assessment, treatment, and care services in both a low dependency unit (25 beds) and in the high dependency unit (8 beds).
We have 3 psychiatrists providing clinical leadership to the AAMHIU multidisciplinary team.
Each consultant is allocated a full time registrar and has junior doctor support.
Our service has an excellent embedded teaching program which supports RANZCP Consultant CPD requirements, including weekly Peer Review,



Case Conference and Journal Clubs.
