About the role
As Nurse Unit Manager of the Horsham Emergency Department, you will provide leadership, direction and operational management to a skilled multidisciplinary team delivering emergency care to patients across Western Victoria.
Our emergency team has a strong reputation for innovation and evidence-based care.
You will have the opportunity to build on these strengths while influencing the ongoing growth and development of Emergency Services within the broader Grampians Health network.
You will lead an environment where people feel supported to perform at their best, where quality and safety underpin decision-making and where new ideas are encouraged.
In this role, you will:
Lead, inspire and develop a multidisciplinary Emergency Department team
Drive service development, innovation and operational improvement
Build a positive, engaged and safe workplace culture
Champion continuous quality improvement and high standards of patient care
Coach and support staff to develop their capability and careers
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Grampians Health and the wider community




Contribute to the strategic direction and future development of Emergency Services
About you
We are looking for an experienced nursing leader who combines strong clinical understanding with the ability to bring people together and lead through change.
You will ideally bring:
2–3 years' leadership and people management experience
Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills
The ability to engage and influence stakeholders to achieve service and organisational objectives
A strategic approach to operational and workforce planning
A strong commitment to quality, patient safety and effective risk management
Postgraduate qualifications in management, or progress towards these qualifications, are desirable
