The Role
We are seeking an experienced Tractor Operator (Chemcert) to join a citrus orchard operation in Carwarp, VIC, within the horticulture industry.
This is a hands-on outdoor role operating tractors and tractor-mounted mulching equipment across uneven farm terrain.
You'll work carefully between citrus rows, maintaining productivity while protecting trees, irrigation infrastructure, and surrounding orchard areas.
Key Responsibilities
You'll support orchard maintenance by safely operating tractors and mulching equipment while maintaining accurate and controlled machinery movements.
Operate tractors safely across uneven orchard terrain
Operate and adjust tractor-mounted mulching equipment
Maintain steady speeds and straight passes between citrus rows
Safely control PTO, hydraulic systems, and tractor attachments
Work carefully around trees, trunks, irrigation lines, and root systems
Complete basic pre-start checks and report equipment issues
Follow farm WHS and machinery safety procedures
Assist with general orchard duties as required
Competitive $***** per hour + penalty rates
Short-term role for approximately 3 weeks
Consistent work with approximately ******* hours per week
Opportunity to gain further experience operating orchard machinery

Your Skills & Experience
To be successful, you'll have practical tractor operating skills and a strong focus on safe machinery use.
Previous tractor operating experience
Confident operating tractors on uneven farm terrain
Experience with tractor attachments or mulching equipment highly regarded
Understanding of PTO and hydraulic systems desirable
Chemcert certificate required
Good spatial awareness when operating around trees and irrigation infrastructure
Reliable and able to follow instructions
Strong commitment to machinery and workplace safety
