How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play.
There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:Assemble, modify, repair and install launch vehicles structural componentsUse sheet metal and fabrication machinery to cut, bend, form, punch or stampAlign, fit, shim, and trim parts to engineering specificationsDrill, ream, countersink and deburr components for assemblyApply sealants, primer, adhesives and protective finishes as requiredInstall and secure fasteners using pneumatic and hand toolsUse solvents to clean surfaces prior to sealing or assemblyOperate brake press, large CNC roller,



install PEM fastenerPerform in-process and final inspections to ensure quality and complianceEnsure all work complies with company procedures, engineering requirements and regulatory obligationsIdentify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and costMaintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Planning, Quality and Manufacturing teamsOther duties as requested by ManagementMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Level 3 Trade qualification in Aerospace, Fitting, or similar trade3+ years of experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, marine or automotive industryDesired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Experience gained through the military or within an aviation manufacturing companyHigh-volume manufacturing experienceAbility to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering, Planning and ManufacturingAbility to rapidly adapt to changes in direction while working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.Experience making basic layouts on parts or assemblies to establish reference points and to check dimensionsExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specificationsExperience operating computing equipment and in Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipmentExperience with configuration management, non-conformance reporting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferredApplicants must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or have an appropriate Australian work visa or work entitlements.Gilmour Space Technologies is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
