The QC Manager is responsible for the effective leadership, coordination and day-to-day management of Phytex Australia's Analytical Laboratory and Preparative Laboratory & Stability Testing program.
The role is responsible for ensuring that laboratory activities are planned, prioritised and completed efficiently to support the company's API manufacturing, quality control, ongoing stability testing, R&D;/new product development and validation activities.
A key requirement of the position is the ability to coordinate laboratory workflows, personnel and equipment scheduling to support 2–3 simultaneous API production campaigns per day, while maintaining appropriate GMP standards, data integrity, analytical accuracy and batch delivery times.
The QC Manager will lead a team of approximately five laboratory personnel and will be expected to be both a hands‐on technical leader and an effective people manager as well as accomplished and accurate GMP report writing.Key responsibilitiesLead, supervise and coordinate a team of approximately five laboratory personnelAllocate daily laboratory activities according to production requirements, testing priorities, personnel capability and available equipmentEstablish clear daily and weekly laboratory prioritiesMonitor staff workload, productivity, performance and completion of assigned activitiesProvide technical guidance, training and mentoring to laboratory staffManage laboratory workflow to provide timely analytical support to 2–3 simultaneous API production campaigns per dayCoordinate testing requirements with Production,



Quality Assurance, Quality Control and R&DDevelop; and maintain an effective equipment booking and scheduling system for coordination between GMP productions & R&DOversee; all routine analytical testing associated with API manufacturingEnsure laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with applicable GMP requirements and Phytex Australia quality systemsAbout youDegree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry or a related scientific disciplineDemonstrated experience managing or supervising a laboratory teamDemonstrated leadership experience managing a team of approximately 5 laboratory personnelSignificant hands‐on analytical laboratory experienceExperience working with HPLC and GC & Moisture Analysis instrumentsExperience managing multiple laboratory workflows and competing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to schedule laboratory equipment and personnel to meet production deadlinesExperience working within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, API, chemical or related manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of laboratory documentation, SOPs, specifications and analytical recordsStrong organisational and communication skillsAbout usPhytex Australia is an API manufacturing company operating from Peakhurst NSW.
