Partnering with Kenworth Trucks, Alstom and other major customers for their assembly and manufacturing requirements.
We are the largest supplier to Kenworth Trucks (the leading manufacturer of premium Commercial Trucks sold around the world).
We are looking for a Spray Painter/Powder Coater, responsible for the complete powder coating process from preparation through to final inspection and dispatch readiness.
This includes sanding, surface preparation, degreasing, chemical treatment, masking, hanging, powder application, curing, quality inspection, touch-ups, packing, material handling and dispatch preparation.
The role requires an experienced operator capable of producing high-quality finishes on aluminium and steel components while maintaining production, quality and safety standards.Key responsibilitiesPrepare aluminium, steel and other approved materials for powder coatingSand, de-burr, clean and prepare surfaces to ensure coating adhesion and finish qualityDegrease, wash and chemically treat components in accordance with work instructions, specifications and SDS requirementsConduct pre-treatment inspections and identify contamination, damage or defects prior to coatingMask, rack and hang components in accordance with production requirementsApply powder coating to required specifications, colours,



film thickness requirements and finish standardsOperate powder coating booths, spray equipment, curing ovens and associated plant safely and efficientlyMonitor coating coverage, application quality, curing times and temperature requirementsConduct final inspections to ensure products meet customer and quality requirementsPackage, wrap, protect and prepare finished products for storage, internal transfer or dispatchAbout youMinimum 4 years' powder coating, surface finishing or related manufacturing experienceDemonstrated experience performing end-to-end powder coating or spray painting processesExperience coating aluminium and steel productsExperience with sanding, surface preparation, degreasing and maskingExperience operating powder coating equipment and curing ovensStrong understanding of coating quality standards and defect identificationDemonstrated experience handling industrial powders, coatings and workplace chemicalsAbility to work collaboratively within a small team environmentHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipStrong commitment to workplace safetyApplications must include a cover letter addressing the following:Why you are interested in this position;Your experience relevant to the key responsibilities outlined in this advertisement; andWhy you believe you would be a solid fit for the Assemco team.Applications submitted without a cover letter may not be considered.
