Rosehill Secondary College is seeking a Physics Teacher - VCE to join our dedicated teaching team.
This is a full-time position based in Niddrie, (West Essendon) Victoria.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality VCE Physics instruction to students, fostering their understanding of key physics concepts and preparing them for successful completion of their VCE studies.
This position is integral to our commitment to academic excellence and student achievement, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational trajectories and future pathways.Key responsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging, well-structured VCE Physics lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) requirementsAssess student learning through a range of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support student progressSet and maintain high expectations for student behaviour, engagement and academic achievementCreate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, curiosity and scientific inquiryDevelop and maintain detailed records of student progress and achievement, communicating regularly with parents and guardians about student performanceConduct laboratory practicals and experimental work, ensuring appropriate safety standards and fostering hands-on learning experiencesCollaborate with colleagues in the Science department to coordinate curriculum delivery and share best practiceParticipate in professional development opportunities to maintain current knowledge of physics education and teaching methodologiesContribute to the broader life of the school including extracurricular activities,



professional development and school eventsSupport student wellbeing and pastoral care responsibilities as required by the schoolWhat we're looking forA relevant tertiary qualification in Physics or a related disciplineCurrent registration or eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)Proven experience teaching Physics at secondary level, preferably with VCE experienceStrong subject matter expertise and a thorough understanding of VCE Physics curriculum requirementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilitiesDemonstrated ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environmentsProficiency in using digital technologies and learning management systems to enhance teaching and learningA commitment to maintaining high professional standards and engaging in ongoing skilled developmentExperience with VCE assessment practices and familiarity with VCAA resourcesAbout usRosehill Secondary College is a thriving educational institution committed to providing a high-quality, student-centred learning experience.
