Senior Accountant - Automotive Group | Full TimeWest End Motor Group (WEMG) is well established and growing automotive group representing a number of leading automotive brands across Western Sydney.We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join our finance team at our Mazda Head Office in North Parramatta.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a multi-dealership automotive group.About the RoleReporting to senior management, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions across the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and compliance with relevant accounting and taxation requirements.Key responsibilities include:Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and financial reportsMonth-end and year-end accounting processesGeneral ledger management and reconciliationsPreparation and analysis of financial statementsBudgeting, forecasting and variance analysisCash flow management and reportingAccounts payable and receivable oversightBank and balance sheet reconciliationsBAS, GST, FBT and other statutory reportingAssisting with annual audits and external accountant requirementsMonitoring and maintaining effective financial controlsIdentifying financial trends, risks and opportunitiesProviding financial insights and recommendations to managementSupporting dealership management with financial and commercial analysisWorking closely with payroll.




HR and operational teams where requiredEnsuring compliance with accounting standards, taxation legislation and company policiesIdentifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems and reportingAbout YouWe are looking for someone who is confident working independently, highly organized and has strong commercial awareness.You will ideally have:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineCA/CPA qualification or working towards completion (highly desirable)Minimum 5 year's accounting experiencePrevious experience in the automotive industry or multi-site environment (highly desirable)Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation requirementsExcellent attention to detail and analytical skillsStrong Excel and accounting system skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlinesA proactive approach to identify and resolving issuesStrong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insightsWhy Join WEMG?
