Qld Operations Manager – Road & Pavement Maintenance
Crestmead, Brisbane | Reporting to National Manager (Sydney)
A well-established and growing infrastructure services group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead its Queensland road and pavement maintenance business — a ~$20M revenue operation with a team of around 40 people.
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone who has come up through road construction, civil engineering, or related blue‐collar, site‐based workforce management, and who is equally comfortable on the tools, in the yard, and in the boardroom with key clients.
The role:
Lead and grow a 40-solid operational team, driving performance, culture, and accountability across the business
Build and manage relationships with key clients and large Tier 1 contractors, ensuring programs are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard
Own the safety culture of the business — HSEQ isn't a box to tick,



it's the way the job gets done
Manage financial performance, pricing, and resourcing to protect margin and grow the book
Work closely with, and support, the National Manager based in Sydney to align the Queensland business with broader company strategy
Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand the client base
What you'll bring:
Proven operational leadership in road maintenance, civil construction, profiling, or a closely related field
A track record managing blue‐collar, site‐based crews at scale
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging Tier 1 contractors and major clients at a senior level
A genuine safety‐first mindset and the presence to drive it through a large team
Commercial acumen — comfortable owning a P&L; and driving financial performance
