About the Opportunity
We're seeking a Disability Advocate to provide information, support and advocacy to people with disability, their families and carers.
This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity until 30 June ****.
You'll work directly with clients experiencing issues relating to disability services, discrimination, abuse, neglect, decision‐making, complaints, access to supports and navigating complex systems, including the NDIS.
In this role, you will:
Support clients to understand and exercise their rights
Advocate for individuals experiencing barriers or disadvantage
Assist clients to navigate disability services and systems, including the NDIS
Build relationships with community organisations and stakeholders
Represent ADA Australia at community events and forums
About You
You're passionate about social justice and empowering people to have their voices heard.
You will bring:
Qualifications in human services, social work, behavioural science, community services and/or equivalent experience




Experience working with or supporting people with disability or other vulnerable groups
Strong communication, advocacy and relationship‐building skills
Sound judgement, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Strong administrative and computer skills, including experience using client management systems
Valid Australian Driver Licence
Current (less than three years old) National Criminal History Certificate
Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Valid Working with Children Blue Card
