We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team in Richlands, Brisbane.
The Metal Fabricator is responsible for welding and fabricating components and assemblies used in truck body construction.This includes welding steel, aluminium, and other materials to specification, ensuring structural integrity, precision, and quality finish.
The role supports the production team in delivering durable, safe, and high-quality truck bodies.Key ResponsibilitiesWeld and fabricate components for truck bodies, including chassis extensions, frames, and sub-assembliesWork with steel, aluminium, and other metal materials used in truck body buildsRead and interpret technical drawings, welding procedures, and specificationsSelect appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or ARC)



for each taskPrepare and clean surfaces for welding to ensure quality and safetyInspect welds for strength, accuracy, and compliance with standardsAssist with assembly of fabricated components onto truck bodiesMaintain welding equipment and tools in positive working orderEnsure the workshop and work area are kept clean, organised, and safeWork collaboratively with fabrication, body assembly, and finishing teams to meet production schedulesApplicants must haveProven experience in welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG/ARC) in a truck body, heavy vehicle, or industrial fabrication environmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsKnowledge of different metals and their welding requirementsStrong attention to detail and focus on qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProblem-solving skills and ability to work under production deadlinesIt is also preferred that applicants haveA trade qualification in Welding or Fabrication (preferred but not essential)Welding tickets/certifications (MIG, TIG, ARC)Driver's Licence (preferred)Forklift Licence (advantageous)A salary of $75,000 - $85,000 p.a plus super will be offered to the successful candidate.
