Immediate Start: Cost Controller – Brisbane BasedWe're looking for a skilled Cost controller with extensive gas process or production experience, and a robust finance/cost control background, ideally with experience supporting major projects, shutdowns, turnarounds or other high-value maintenance activities.
The Cost Controller will own the day-to-day cost control function for the shutdown, working closely with Event Leads to ensure accurate, timely visibility of commitments, accruals, forecasts and actual spend.Roster - Monday to Friday - 5/2 8 hours per dayBrisbane City BasedHourly rate + super - paid weeklyImmediate start – 12 Month Contract with potential for extensionKey responsibilitiesDevelop SAP experience and become familiar with Santos cost control processes and systemsTrack and report expenditure using strong finance and cost control expertiseGenerate and manage purchase orders for labour resourcing and material procurementWork closely with Shutdown Event Leads to prepare and update monthly accrualsCollaborate on monthly spend forecasting and identify emerging cost risksDuring shutdown execution, provide regular visibility of actual spend and shift burn rate, including maintaining and updating the shutdown cost curveConduct finance and cost control audits,



including reviewing historic expenditure and identifying discrepancies or opportunities for improvementWork with Shutdown Event Leads and procurement/finance stakeholders to close purchase orders and finalise shutdown costsAbout youDemonstrated cost control experience in an oil & gas, resources, industrial or major maintenance environmentExperience working within a shutdown/turnaround or project environmentStrong SAP capability, particularly around procurement, purchase orders and financial reportingStrong attention to detail and confidence working with financial dataAbility to work closely with operational and maintenance leaders and translate financial information into clear, practical insightsStrong Excel and reporting capabilityAbility to work independently while operating as part of a broader shutdown teamFlexibility to work full-time on site at Moomba during shutdown execution periodsBENEFITSA very competitive remuneration package and weekly paysAdditional further opportunities within CPFS_AUSSuperannuation paid on all hours workedStaff UniformsTechnical Support and ongoing development opportunities
