This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in construction law and dispute resolution within a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.
You will play a vital role in managing complex construction disputes, advising clients on contractual matters, and representing their interests in litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
This position offers the chance to work on high-value, technically challenging matters that have significant commercial and practical implications.Key responsibilitiesManage a portfolio of construction litigation and dispute resolution matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including trials, arbitrations, and mediationsProvide expert legal advice to clients on construction contracts, defects liability, delay claims, and payment disputesDraft pleadings, applications, particulars of claim,



and other court documents of a high standardConduct legal research and prepare comprehensive advice memoranda on complex construction law issuesCommunicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court officers to progress matters efficientlyPrepare and present oral submissions at court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferencesConduct and supervise discovery, document review, and evidence preparationAssist with pre-trial preparation and case strategy developmentCollaborate with senior lawyers and other team members to deliver exceptional client outcomesMaintain detailed and accurate file management and client billing recordsWhat we're looking forAdmission to the Legal Profession (or eligible to apply for admission) in New South WalesMinimum 2 years' post-admission experience in construction litigation and dispute resolution, or equivalent experience in commercial litigation with a strong construction law componentSolid understanding of construction contracts, including AS ******* and other standard-form contracts used in the construction industryDemonstrated expertise in civil procedure rules and court processes, with experience managing matters from initiation through to final determinationStrong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear and persuasive adviceExcellent communication skills, both written and oral,



with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to clients with varying levels of legal knowledgeProfessional competence in managing client relationships and maintaining trust and confidenceAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong organisational and time management skillsAttention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all workExperience with legal software and IT proficiencyPreferred: experience in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration, mediation, or expert determination; experience advising contractors, principals, or professional indemnity insurers; or specific knowledge of defects liability and Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act claimsWhat we offerForesight Law Group is committed to creating a workplace that supports career development and personal wellbeing.
