Quality Engineer - Commercial Vehicles (Junior to Mid-Level)We're currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a global leader in the manufacture of braking, electronic and related subsystems for commercial vehicles.
This is a full time, permanent position based in Southeast Melbourne.
The role is fully office-based and combines hands‐on product testing and quality investigations with application engineering, warranty support and direct customer interaction.Roles and ResponsibilitiesConduct warranty inspections, product testing, investigations and technical reportingManage warranty and sales-return inspections and support product quality investigationsProvide technical and application support for product testing, troubleshooting and issue resolutionSupport trailer braking drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and brake calculations in line with ADR requirementsCoordinate technical and quality matters with OEM customers, internal stakeholders and offshore engineering teamsSupport engineering changes,
technical documentation and continuous improvement initiativesSkills and RequirementsQualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similarPrior experience with commercial vehicles and braking systems, with a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of associated electronic systemsExperience in product quality, warranty investigations, testing, applications engineering or technical supportAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD or 3D modelsMust be an AU/NZ citizen or hold PRAbout UsHeaton undertakes work both locally and internationally for some of the world's best heavy industry organisations that make a positive difference to millions of people's lives every day.
