This is a FIFO opportunity on an 8/6 roster.
The role will suit an experienced Mine Planning Engineer with a strong underground hard-rock mining background, who can develop practical mine plans and schedules that support safe, efficient and achievable production and development outcomes.What You'll Be DoingDeveloping and maintaining underground mine plans, designs and schedules to support production and development targetsPreparing short- and medium-term mine plans and integrating these with operational requirementsWorking closely with Mining Operations and Technical Services teams to ensure plans are practical, achievable and aligned with site prioritiesMonitoring actual mining performance against plan and identifying variances, risks and opportunitiesProviding technical planning support to optimise mining sequences, development and production activitiesReviewing and updating mine designs and schedules in response to changing operational requirementsAnalysing mining data and performance to support planning decisions and improve operational outcomesSupporting the development of production and development schedules, ensuring appropriate consideration is given to resources,
equipment and operational constraintsIdentifying opportunities to improve mine planning processes, productivity and efficiencyProviding practical technical advice and recommendations to operational and site leadership teamsEnsuring mine plans and schedules are developed in accordance with relevant safety, regulatory and site requirementsContributing to continuous improvement initiatives across underground mining operationsWhat We're Looking ForProven experience as a Mine Planning Engineer within an underground mining environmentStrong underground hard-rock mining experience is essentialExperience within underground Gold mining would be highly regardedStrong understanding of underground mine planning, design, scheduling and production processesDemonstrated ability to develop practical and achievable mine plans that support operational deliveryStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret mining data and identify opportunities for improvementAbility to work closely with Mining Operations and Technical Services teamsStrong understanding of underground mining methods and production/development requirementsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational performanceStrong commitment to safety and complianceWe are looking for people that are ambitious and able to use their initiative to drive outcomes.
