Creating unique pieces for unique individuals.About the roleWe are looking for an experienced Garment Technician to join our Head Office team in South Yarra, working across our knitwear and cut-and-sew categories.Working closely with our Senior Designer and Design Assistant, this is a hands‐on technical role responsible for ensuring our garments meet CALIBRE's standards across fit, construction, quality and performance.Knitwear is at the heart of this role.
We are looking for someone with a genuine technical understanding of how knitwear is made, including yarn behaviour, stitch construction, garment finishing and fabric performance across wash and wear.The category moves quickly, so you will need to be technically confident, highly organised and comfortable managing priorities in a rapid‐paced environment without compromising on quality.You will:Own the technical garment process from development through to bulk approvalCreate and maintain accurate garment specifications and technical documentationConduct fittings and provide clear, commercially considered fit and construction commentsReview and assess samples for fit, measurements, construction and overall qualityAssess knitwear construction, yarn behaviour,



stitch quality and garment finishingMonitor garment and fabric performance across wash and wearIdentify technical and quality issues and provide solutions throughout the development processManage sample assessment, quality sign‐off and bulk approvalWork closely with the Senior Designer and Design Assistant to achieve the intended design, fit and qualityCommunicate clear technical requirements and feedback to suppliersMaintain accurate records and ensure technical work is completed within critical timelinesTake ownership of quality standards across your categories from development through to productionYou are:An experienced Garment Technician with knitwear experienceConfident in knitwear construction, yarns, stitches, finishing and garment performanceExperienced in garment specifications, fittings, sample assessment and quality controlHighly detail‐oriented with a strong understanding of garment constructionComfortable making technical decisions and taking ownership of product qualityHighly organised and able to manage multiple styles and deadlines at onceAble to work quickly and accurately without compromising standardsProactive, solutions‐focused and confident working independentlyA strong communicator who can work collaboratively with designers and suppliersPassionate about producing premium, high‐quality productPrevious menswear experience will be highly regarded, particularly within premium or designer fashion.Work closely with CALIBRE's in‐house design studio from our South Yarra Head OfficeHands‐on involvement across the full product development lifecycleCollaborative work environment with opportunities for progression and growthUp to 70% off CALIBRE's premium product range, plus exclusive external discounts with brand partnersEarn up to $4,000 per referral through our employee referral scheme
