A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to become an integral member of our Scheduling team.
Reporting to the Scheduling Manager and situated in our Truganina, VIC office.
The job would entail the scheduling of reinforcing products for a range of concrete structures in commercial and civil construction projects in accordance with the relevant standards.
Civil Engineering Technicians must also effectively control the project requirements through accurate forward planning and scheduling of production and delivery in order to maximize productivity and profitability for the business.Duties to include, but not limited to:Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.Schedule reinforcing products into Bestbar's operating systemAccurately plan and schedule to the project/job requirementsKeep abreast of products and availabilityEstablish and continually update project drawings, files and diaryManage several projects simultaneouslyProvide the Planning Department,



detailed forward tonnage one month ahead of production on a continual basisSchedule to the planned tonnage two weeks ahead of production and forward those schedules to replace the planned tonnageUse Auto Cad for basic shapesEstablish construction programs with Site ManagersAssist Sales Department with tender preparation and quotationsTechnicians to do take off in tenders and lumpsum quotesCreate and Complete Variations on Lump Sum JobsCoordinate Credits and NCR information for jobSchedule price reconciled against Lump sum estimate, identify potential issues(variations)Job closure when projects are completeSkills and QualificationsTertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant experience within the Reinforcing IndustryDemonstrated achievement in problem solving and project completionHigh level of administration skillsAbility to use Auto Cad, Tekla, Revit and BluebeamExperience in the commercial, residential and civil marketsExperience in a customer facing roleIntermediate level of Microsoft Office proficiencyAt Bestbar we offer:"Our solid belief in 'family culture' allows us to build lasting relationships based on trust and integrity with sub-contractors, employees, and clients".
