The Team

The North West Cancer Centre, Burnie,provides comprehensive specialist outpatient Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services to the North West Tasmanian Community. The NWCC is affiliated with the Northern Cancer Service with it situated in the North West Regional Hospital complex and provides direct access to a range of medical, surgical and hospital services required to deliver quality, person-centred cancer care.
The Roles

We are seeking a motivated nurse, preferably with 3 years of clinical experience to provide specialised nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, cancer treatment and non oncology treatment. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, administration of chemotherapy and other oncologic therapies, symptom management, patient education, and emotional support. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure protected, evidence-based, and compassionate care throughout the cancer treatment journey.
You will need

Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) Registered Nurse standards for practice.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Drive clinical excellence and continuous improvement with a focus on ongoing professional and career development.
Prior oncology experience is desirable but not a requirement, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to professional development in this specialty

Details of appointment

1 x Permanent part time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, with as soon as possible start.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum(Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
