A fast-growing consulting firm specialising in the insurance sector is looking for a commercially minded Corporate Communications Manager to turn the knowledge, expertise and intelligence within the business into compelling content and actionable insights that raise its profile in the market.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can do more than write well.
You'll need to be curious, investigative and commercially aware, with the ability to find the story within complex subject matter and turn it into content that informs, engages and creates conversation.
Working closely with senior subject matter experts and business leaders, you'll identify emerging issues, conduct research and interviews, interrogate data and develop content that positions the firm and its people as credible voices on issues that matter to the insurance industry.
You'll sit within the Marketing team and play an important role in shaping the firm's thought leadership and communications agenda.
What you'll be doing
Corporate communications & thought leadership
Work with senior subject matter experts to identify ideas, issues and insights worth taking to market
Develop articles, reports, commentary, case studies, thought leadership and other market-facing content
Conduct interviews and research to uncover stories and perspectives
Turn complex technical information into clear, engaging and commercially relevant narratives
Help shape and execute the firm's broader communications and content strategy
Identify opportunities to proactively comment on emerging industry issues
Ensure the firm's expertise is consistently translated into content that strengthens its market profile
Research & insights
A key part of the role will be understanding what is happening in the market and determining what it means for clients and industry audiences.
Research emerging issues, trends and topics relevant to the firm's clients
Analyse data and information to identify meaningful trends and insights
Work with subject matter experts to turn knowledge into actionable insights
Develop research-led content that supports thought leadership, campaigns and business development
Help identify opportunities for the firm to contribute to relevant industry conversations
You'll take ideas from initial concept through to finished product, working with internal stakeholders and creative resources along the way.
Develop and edit high-quality written content across multiple formats
Create briefing documents, interview guides and research materials
Coordinate content production with internal and external resources
Adapt content for different audiences and channels
Use AI and modern content tools to support research, ideation and production while maintaining strong editorial judgement
You'll work closely with senior people across the business, building relationships and extracting the knowledge and perspectives that sit within the organisation.
Build trusted relationships with senior subject matter experts
Facilitate interviews, workshops and information-gathering sessions
Ask the right questions to uncover helpful and differentiated insights
Work with colleagues to identify content opportunities
Coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects to deliver content to deadline
What you'll bring
You're a strong writer, but you're not simply a writer.
You're naturally curious.
You enjoy getting under the skin of a subject, asking questions and working out why something matters.
You can take a complex issue, identify the interesting angle and turn it into something an intelligent business audience will want to read.
You'll ideally bring:
Strong writing, editing and interviewing skills
Excellent research and analytical capability
The ability to identify compelling angles within complex subject matter
Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of professional audiences
Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts
Excellent organisation and project management skills
Experience managing multiple content projects and deadlines
Experience using AI and modern content tools
Exposure to professional services, consulting, insurance or a related environment
Your background could be in corporate communications, journalism, content, publishing, research or professional services marketing.
Experience with thought leadership, events, data-led content or legislative and government policy research would be advantageous, but is not essential.
The person
You might be a journalist who has moved into corporate communications.
You might be a communications or content specialist who wants to become more involved in research, insight and strategy.
Or you might already be working in professional services and have developed a reputation for turning complex expertise into content that gets noticed.
You'll be someone who:
Is naturally curious and asks good questions
Enjoys finding the story others might miss
Has strong editorial judgement
Can make complex information simple without making it simplistic
Is comfortable working with senior stakeholders
Is commercially minded and understands the importance of relevance
Can move comfortably between research, writing, stakeholder engagement and project delivery
Is confident using technology and AI to work smarter
Takes ownership and enjoys working in a growing business
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to play a visible role in building the profile of a growing specialist consulting business.
You'll have access to experienced practitioners, industry intelligence and a wealth of knowledge, and your job will be to turn that expertise into ideas, insights and content that have genuine value in the market.
It's a role for someone who wants to be close to the subject matter, close to senior decision-makers and close to the conversations shaping an industry.
If you can take what a business knows and turn it into something the market wants to hear, this could be a very interesting next move.
