We are looking for a motivated, determined & experienced individual who has professional horse stud experience.The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry.The salary will be above award – in the range of $75,000 to $85,000 per annum depending upon the skill set and level of responsibility.

Consideration may be given to highly skilled applicants without a visa if no other suitable person applies.Job ResponsibilitiesBreeding Duties will include:Training broodmares and young stockOverseeing daily care and supervision of horsesEarly education of young stockFoaling,



including pre- and post-natal care of broodmares and foalsAssisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foalsMonitoring mare ovulation and pregnancyTaking a leadership role and supervision of junior staffYearling Duties will include:Training and preparing horses for major salesEducating horses to be groomed and accept bridle, head collar, rug etc.Teaching horses to walk, stand and parade correctlyParade and caring for horses at salesOverseeing daily care and supervision of horsesRe-educating horses to resolve problems such as biting and kickingJob RequirementsAll applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role or a relevant qualification and at least 2 years full time professional experience in the role.In addition, the following will be required:Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred breedingProven ability to train and educate young horsesProven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skillsKnowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
