Based in Townsville, or open to candidates willing to relocate, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of upcoming road infrastructure projects, while contributing to overall project performance, commercial outcomes and team development.Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of both technical and commercial aspects of project delivery, working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
You will also provide leadership and mentoring to engineers across the project team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.Key responsibilitiesMaintain strong HSEQ awareness and ensure compliance across all project activitiesCoordinate contract administration, including insurances,



bonds and project management plansMonitor construction programs and drive project performance against key milestonesPrepare and review monthly progress claims and subcontractor statementsManage subcontractor and supplier engagement, including procurement, negotiation and contract finalisationIdentify and manage variations, extensions of time (EOTs) and contractual risksOversee cost control, forecasting, budgeting and monthly financial reportingMaintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholdersCoordinate pre-start meetings and ongoing project meetingsIdentify critical materials and resources to ensure procurement aligns with construction programsLead, mentor and develop Project Engineers and Site EngineersSupport design management activities and contribute to project planning and delivery strategiesDrive productivity and construction outcomes across large-scale civil infrastructure projectsAbout youDegree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer delivering major civil infrastructure projectsProven road construction experience is essential, with experience across highways, intersections, pavements, earthworks and associated civil worksPipeline construction experience will be highly regardedStrong understanding of contract administration,



cost control and commercial project deliveryProven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholder relationshipsExperience identifying and managing project risks, variations and contractual obligationsStrong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing engineersExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsHigh level of organisation, planning and attention to detailCommitment to safety, quality and environmental outcomesBased in Townsville or willing to relocate to support upcoming North Queensland projectsWhy BMD?
