A well-established, ASX-listed national operator is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on a temporary basis.
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you'll work alongside a team of Payroll Officers, supporting the accurate, on-time delivery of a high-volume weekly pay-run for a workforce of 21,000+ employees.About the roleProcessing weekly payroll accurately and on time, in line with approved procedures and legislative requirementsSupporting period-end and statutory obligations, including superannuation, payroll tax and STP reportingInterpreting and applying Modern Awards and enterprise agreements correctly across a large,
multi-site workforceInvestigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee payroll queriesAssisting with reconciliations and providing extra support during peak processing periodsWorking closely with People, Finance and IT as neededAbout youProven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar, ideally in a high-volume, weekly pay-cycle environmentStrong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Contemporary Awards and statutory requirements (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax)Comfortable working with payroll and HRIS systemsHigh attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight, recurring deadlines
