The position will require physical work and the ability to safely operate a variety of machinery and use of chemicals to spray weeds or pests if required.About the RoleYour responsibilities will include:Maintaining established native gardens, grasslands, waterways and wetland areasMaintaining Clubhouse gardens and lawns to a high presentation standardPlant propagation, including propagation from indigenous seed stockWeed and pest management, including the safe application of chemicalsOperating machinery, power tools and horticultural maintenance equipmentAssisting with the construction and redevelopment of garden and landscaped areasMaintaining accurate records relating to horticultural activities and chemical useWorking within allocated budgets and assisting with planning and orderingSupporting the wider Course Maintenance team when requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:A recognised horticultural qualification and relevant industry experienceStrong knowledge of native plants and grassesExperience in weed and pest managementA current ChemCert qualification or equivalent chemical accreditationThe ability to safely operate machinery, power tools and maintenance equipment, including chainsawsA current driver's licenceGood organisational and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate recordsA good level of physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual workThe ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamA reliable, positive attitude and strong work ethicLandscape construction experience would be an advantage but is not essential.The PositionThis is a full-time position working 38 hours per week, with early morning starts required.Uniforms and tools will be supplied.
