Safe Planet is looking for a2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Apprenticeto join our growing Melbourne installation team.
This is a hands-on role working alongside alicensed tradesman with 40+ years of industry experiencewho genuinely wants to teach the next generation.
You'll be involved in complete installations — not just carrying tools or doing the same basic tasks every day.

What you'll get
$55,000–$70,000 + super, depending on apprenticeship year and experience

What you'll be working on
You'll gain practical experience across residential air-conditioning installations, including:
Ducted reverse-cycle systems
Split and multi-head/VRF systems
Indoor and outdoor unit installation
Ductwork, outlets and return-air systems
Copper pipework and brazing
Pressure testing and vacuuming
Refrigeration pipework
Condensate and drainage
Replacement of existing gas ducted heating systems
Commissioning and testing
General installation and site work




The aim is simple:we want you to understand how to complete the whole job properly, not just one part of it.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
Currently a2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Apprentice
Reliable and turns up on time
Keen to learn and improve
Comfortable working in roof spaces and under floors
Willing to listen, ask questions and take direction
Proud of doing clean, professional work
Respectful when working inside customers' homes
Able to work well as part of a team
Holding an Australian driver's licence (preferred)
Holding a White Card, or willing to obtain one
A strong 1st-year apprentice with genuine hands-on HVAC experience may also be considered.

Safe Planet is a 7 year old established Melbourne energy-efficiency company and an Accredited Provider under theVictorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.
We help Victorian households replace older gas heating with efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning and also operate across hot water, solar and battery upgrades.
Our air-conditioning division is growing, and we're building astrong in-house installation team for the long term.
This creates a genuine pathway for the right apprentice tocomplete their apprenticeship, become qualified and continue growing with the business.
