We foster positive community impact while providing our team with opportunities for professional growth, encouraging every employee to feel like an integral part of our journey towards sustainability.The RoleThe OT Network & I&C; Specialist is responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of operational technology (OT) networks and associated SCADA systems across GRS's utility-scale solar portfolio.This role forms part of the central I&C; team and supports the operation and maintenance phase of assets.
The position ensures the integrity of communication systems linking field devices (inverters, trackers, meteorological stations) to plant-level and central SCADA systems.The role interfaces closely with site based I&C; technicians, engineering teams, OEM vendors, and the corporate IT function to ensure:Implementation of appropriate OT cyber security controlsKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain, configure, and troubleshoot plant-level industrial communication networks,



including:Managed switches and routersMonitor network performance and availability to ensure reliable real-time telemetry across the plantImplement and maintain:Layer 2/Layer 3 configurationsSupport standardisation of network design and configuration across the portfolioControl Systems & Field SupportSupport diagnosis and resolution of communication faults between OT network infrastructure and control systems (PLCs, RTUs, SCADA interfaces)Work collaboratively with site I&C; personnel during fault-finding and restoration activitiesCommissioning activitiesPlant expansions or retrofitsReview and validate "as-built" network documentation to ensure compliance with GRS standardsAct as technical liaison with OEMs and vendors for:Equipment issuesFirmware updatesWarranty claimsOT Cyber Security ImplementationPort securityFirmware and patching complianceBasic firewall configuration (where applicable)Support the implementation of OT cyber security requirements in alignment with internal standardsCoordinate with corporate IT, recognising clear ownership boundaries:IT retains responsibility for identity and access management (IAM)OT focuses on network resilience and device-level protectionSkills & Experience Required:Bachelor's or Diploma in Engineering, networking, automation or similar degree.Five years of experience in the construction of photovoltaic plants doing the described functions.Experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including:Switching and routing (Layer 2/Layer 3)TCP/IP networkingFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP, DNP3 or equivalent)Experience with network monitoring or management systemsAvailable to travel *****%Why Join Us?
