From launching Australia's first ATM to helping shape the future of digital payments, we continue to transform the way money moves.What you'll be doingAs a Lead Engineer, you'll work closely with Product Owners, Engineers and delivery squads to turn the core banking business needs into technical solutions.You'll be responsible for:Leading technical solution design and delivery ensuring alignment with domain architecture strategiesProviding hands-on engineering support and helping developers resolve technical challengesReviewing code and ensuring solutions meet quality, security and engineering standardsIdentifying technical risks, dependencies and roadblocks and driving these through to resolutionEmbedding effective development, testing and operations practices across the squadSupporting root cause analysis, post-incident reviews and the prioritisation of technical defectsLeading release planning, change sequencing and technical delivery decisionsContributing to strategic technical roadmaps in partnership with product and architecture teamsCreating and maintaining transparent technical documentation, standards and processesMentoring engineers and helping uplift technical capability across the teamAbout youYou're an experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, leading technical conversations and helping others deliver their best work.
You can balance hands-on engineering with broader platform,



product and delivery considerations.You'll bring:Extensive experience as a software engineer including previous leadership experienceDomain knowledge in Payments, Settlements and DisputesHands-on experience designing, building and delivering software solutionsExperience implementing development automation, CI/CD, test automation, DevOps practices and modern deployment approachesStrong knowledge of scalability, performance, resilience and disaster recoveryProgramming experience with Java or Node.jsExperience reviewing code and supporting developers and testers through design, build and deliveryThe ability to identify delivery risks, sequence technical work and resolve roadblocksThe ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhy Cuscal?
