Odyssey Recruitment Global Medical Recruitment - Bendigo VIC1d ago , from Odyssey Recruitment Global Medical RecruitmentTwo excellent opportunities are available for registrars to join a newly established Hospital in the Home medical team at a major regional health service in Victoria.These standalone 12-month positions are suitable for doctors at BPT2 or BPT3 level who wish to develop their skills in acute and ambulatory medicine while providing hospital-level care to patients in their own homes.The successful registrars will receive dedicated consultant support, structured supervision and a personalised qualified-development plan aligned with relevant Royal Australasian College of Physicians training requirements.The PositionThe Hospital in the Home service manages a diverse range of acute medical and specialty patients who can safely receive hospital-level assessment, treatment and monitoring outside a conventional inpatient ward.
Care is delivered through:A dedicated Hospital in the Home clinicTelehealth consultationsVisits to patients' homesCollaboration with inpatient and specialty teamsCoordination with nursing and allied health servicesThe registrar will provide day-to-day clinical management of HITH patients while working closely with supervising consultants, nursing staff, junior doctors and referring clinical teams.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will:Assess and manage patients admitted to the HITH serviceDevelop and review individualised treatment plansMonitor patients receiving acute treatment at homeConduct clinical reviews in the HITH clinic, by telehealth and in patients' homesIdentify clinical deterioration and arrange escalation or hospital admission when requiredCoordinate investigations,



medications and follow-up careLiaise with inpatient, emergency and specialty medical teamsWork collaboratively with nursing, allied health and community providersMaintain clear and accurate clinical documentationSupport safe admission to and discharge from the HITH serviceSupervise and mentor junior medical staffParticipate in clinical governance, education and quality-improvement activitiesTraining and Professional DevelopmentA professional-development plan will be developed with the Medical Director and tailored to the registrar's experience, learning objectives and physician-training requirements.
