The organisation is moving from a large monolithic environment towards best-of-breed platforms, creating important architecture decisions about authoritative sources of truth, reference data, information flows, interoperability and cross-system dependencies.This is not primarily a Data Modeller, Data Engineer, governance specialist or single-platform Solution Architect position.
We are looking for a broad Enterprise Architect who can bring genuine data-domain depth while working consultatively across executives, program leaders, architects and delivery teams.The opportunityInitial 12-month contractOne 12-month extension optionExpected start date: 19 October ****Locations: Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or AdelaideHybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office37.5 hours per weekLead, EL2-equivalent engagementWhat you will doShape enterprise architecture across multiple systems,



programs and technology investmentsDevelop and communicate target-state architecture and practical transition roadmapsGuide the transition from a monolithic environment towards best-of-breed platformsHelp determine authoritative sources of truth and how information should move across systemsResolve reference-data, interoperability and cross-system architecture issuesIdentify dependencies, risks, sequencing considerations and opportunities for reuseEngage early with project teams to shape direction before decisions reach formal governanceTranslate complex architecture issues into clear business advice for senior leaders and executivesInfluence program direction and architecture decisions without relying on formal authorityWork strategically across several concurrent transformation initiatives while remaining connected to delivery teamsCollaborate with enterprise, solution, security and data architects, engineers, business stakeholders and vendorsProvide architecture assurance, guidance and mentoring across the organisationWhat you will bringYou will need to demonstrate:At least eight years of experience designing and delivering complex enterprise data initiatives and solutionsAt least three years in a Principal Architect, Enterprise Architect, Domain Architect or comparable senior roleBroad Enterprise Architecture capability across multiple systems,



programs and investmentsStrong data-domain expertise, including sources of truth, reference data, MDM, RDM, information flows, data modelling and data securityExperience developing target states, transition roadmaps, architecture principles, patterns, standards and guardrailsA record of working across large, complex transformation programsStrong internal consulting skills, including the ability to diagnose ambiguity and shape direction earlyEvidence of influencing executives, peers and delivery teams without direct authorityThe ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to business and executive audiencesExperience balancing strategic direction with practical delivery needs across concurrent workstreamsA team-oriented working style and comfort operating in a changing setting where structures and processes are still developingHighly regarded experience includes:Existing Baseline or NV1 security clearanceExperience in government, financial services, health or another large, regulated environmentFormal Enterprise Architecture certification, such as TOGAFAdvanced AWS or Azure architecture certificationMajor cloud or enterprise transformation experienceRelevant tertiary qualifications in technology, information systems, architecture or a related disciplineGovernment experience is helpful but not mandatory.
Relevant experience from complex commercial environments will be considered where you can demonstrate strong Enterprise Architecture, data-domain and stakeholder-influence capability.
