About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance Advisor to support our growing international supply chain operations across Australia and New Zealand.
This role works closely with management and operational teams to provide commercially practical legal advice across a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, employment law, regulatory compliance, and operational risk.
The position is best suited to a commercially minded legal professional who is confident working in a quick-paced business environment and able to deliver pragmatic, business-oriented solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Contract Support
Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements,
partnership agreements, and logistics service contracts
Identify legal risks and provide practical risk mitigation strategies
Support internal stakeholders in understanding contractual obligations and key risk areas
Employment & HR Legal Advice
Provide legal guidance on employment law matters in collaboration with HR
Review employment contracts, contractor arrangements, and workplace policies
Advise on employee relations issues including disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, and termination matters
Compliance & Regulatory Support
Support compliance with relevant Australian laws and regulations, including commercial law, corporate governance, and workplace legislation
Provide guidance on privacy and data protection obligations
Assist in developing and improving internal compliance frameworks and procedures
Business Legal Support
Provide day-to-day legal support to management and operational teams
Identify and assess legal risks across business operations
Liaise with external law firms where specialised legal advice is required
Key Requirements / Skills
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) is mandatory
Legal qualification obtained in Australia, the UK, or the US is highly preferred
Minimum 4–5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in commercial law, corporate law, or in-house legal roles
Qualified to practice law in Australia is preferred, or strong demonstrated experience in Australian legal framework
Proven experience advising businesses on contracts, employment law, compliance, and corporate legal matters
Strong ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
Experience in logistics, supply chain, or international trade industries is highly regarded
Mandarin Chinese language capability is required
