This position will be based from home and the field, providing service support for Victoria, Tasmania, Current Zealand and occasionally South Australia.LECO Australia is a trusted global laboratory equipment company with instruments for elemental analysis, thermal analysis, metallography and mass spectrometry.
Their analysis covers a wide range of materials including metals, ores, soils, food and feeds, dairy, agricultural, fuels (coal, oil and renewables), and battery materials.
Markets include mining, manufacturing, food and feed, agriculture, fuels, commercial testing laboratories, pharmaceutical/medical, environmental, research (University and Government), defence, among others.About the RoleReporting to the National Service Manager, this full-time Field Service Engineer position will involve preventative maintenance, breakdown service, installations and operator training.
Travel is an integral part of the role and you could be away from home on average 2 weeks of the month depending on client demand.Aim for 80% of time spent at customer sites, providing service such as installations, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and training – other 20% of time will be admin.Completion of service reports, stock requests/management,



and documenting travel expensesBuild strong relationships with clients and provide information on LECO consumables and spare partsParticipate in self-learning through the LECO Ignite training portal, online webinars, etc.Take ownership of allocated jobs and manage the travel arrangements and planningBecome a subject matter expert on LECO instrumentation and provide guidance, support and training to customers on correct operation and useAdditional duties as requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will have the following:Tertiary qualifications in Electronics or ChemistryHands on laboratory experience with LECO instrumentation or other laboratory instrumentation would be highly regardedHand on experience with GCMS instrumentation would be beneficialProven field service experience of chemical laboratory instruments or industrial gas flow process control instrumentationExperience servicing gas flow systems, mechanical/electronic gas flow controllers, gas detection systems, solenoids, pneumatic systems, pumps, and laboratory oven/furnacesRestricted electrical license - highly regardedStrong relationship building and communication skillsAbility to travel to meet the requirements of the clients and the roleFull working rights in AustraliaBenefitsCompetitive salary packageCompany Vehicle (small to medium SUV)Company credit cardAll travel expensesParticipation in the company's annual incentive program (discretionary)
