We're after someone who genuinely loves HR from the grass roots up, the strategy, the basics of redefining processes and yes, the 'hard to hide from' administrative tasks too, but most importantly the people-focused mentality!
This is a brand-new role, a page in the LEAP book that needs rewriting, a Senior Leadership Team who wants HR in the room, and a growing organisation that needs someone to help build the people side of it properly.

You'll report directly to the Director of Operations and sit on our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), with a genuine mandate to shape how we grow.About the roleAs HR Manager, you'll own the full HR remit for LEAP, from workforce planning and recruitment through to employee relations, performance, culture, and compliance.
You'll be a core member of our Senior Leadership Team, translating our growth plans into the workforce structures, capability, and culture we need to deliver on them.Day to day,



you'll:Design and execute LEAP's HR strategy in direct alignment with our growth plansLead workforce planning and recruitment strategy to keep pace with service demandOwn employee relations, industrial relations, and award interpretation -including complex investigations and disciplinary mattersBuild performance management, engagement, and retention frameworks that scaleOwn the Support Worker Learning Journey and broader capability-building strategyLead HR policy, compliance, and employment lifecycle governanceBuild and lead the HR function itself, including future direct reportsProvide strategic advice to Directors and the SLT on workforce trends, risks, and opportunitiesAbout youYou're a seasoned HR generalist or HR Manager with genuine strategic range -comfortable equally with SLT-level conversations about workforce planning, and the hands-on realities of employee relations, IR, and compliance.
You'll bring:Substantial HR management experience, ideally including scaling a workforce through growthStrong working knowledge of employment legislation, award interpretation, and IR/ER practice in an Australian contextExperience building HR frameworks, policies, and processes - not just administering existing onesConfidence advising senior leaders and holding your ground on workforce strategyExperience in the disability, health, or community services sector highly regarded, but not essential - what matters most is your ability to build and leadWhat LEAP offersAn attractive salary package, negotiable based on experienceA genuine seat at the leadership table, this role reports to the Director of Operations and sits on our SLTThe opportunity to shape a growing HR function your way, backed by leadership that wantsThe chance to make a tangible difference to the people who support our Participants every dayA full time, on-site role based in Ulverstone, in Tasmania's beautiful North-West
